Art as a New Language of Travel: RODINA Grand Hotel & SPA Sochi unveils an exhibition dedicated to the beauty of movement
In a world where luxury is increasingly measured not by the number of stars, but by the depth of impressions, RODINA Grand Hotel & SPA Sochi presents a new cultural project — the exhibition “Art. Passion. Movement”, devoted to the beauty of the human body, the energy of sport, and contemporary art.
From August 4 to 14, 2026, the legendary boutique hotel will be transformed into a museum gallery, where works by leading Russian artists and sculptors will tell the story of sport as art — from the ancient ideals of harmony to the contemporary philosophy of mindful living. This exhibition is part of the cultural project “Sochi. Art. August”, which has been introducing residents and guests of the city to the finest examples of Russian and international art since 2019.

From the ancient Olympic games to modern mindfulness
At the heart of the project is an author’s tour, “Sport as Art: Energy of Body and Spirit”.
In forty minutes, guests will set off on a journey through the ages, discovering how the human perception of beauty, strength, and harmony has evolved.
The exhibition opens with monumental works by Mikhail Blinov, included in The Art Newspaper’s list of the 100 most promising young Russian artists, and pieces by Yuri Reznik, whose artworks are featured in more than twenty countries worldwide.
Eugene Sevastyanov’s "Rowers", dedicated to the power of teamwork and one of the most harmonious sports, continues the story.
Unique bronze sculptures by Olga Klaptsova and Igor Volozhanin’s “Energy” take center stage. Volozhanin is notably the author of the famous samurai in Krasnodar Park’s Japanese Garden, which has long become one of Russia’s most iconic contemporary sculptures.
The route then leads visitors to works by Masha Yankovskaya and Irina Kovalevskaya, dedicated to yoga and padel — symbols of modern pursuit for inner balance in the urban rhythm.
The final section brings together the joyful chronicles by Anna Belan, painting a true “chronicle of happiness”, and the intellectually charged works of Katya Belyavskaya, inspired by chess and the literary world of Lewis Carroll.
Thus, physical movement gradually transforms into an artistic image, and sporting achievements become stories of human character.
